Behind the Brand

Walker & Wade is a female founded, responsibility produced, resort wear collection based in Greenwich, CT and hand-made by artisans in Bali, Indonesia. As a small business, our team works hand-in-hand with our master tailors in Bali. We focus on a cut-to-order process as well as prioritize the use of all natural fabrics. Additionally, we strive to repurpose fabric scraps to eliminate waste. The majority of our tailors do beadwork and sewing from their homes, allowing them to be close to their children daily. There is an ancient saying in Bali, “We have no art. We do everything as beautifully as possible.” Each piece is made with an immense amount of care and pride and throughout the years our Bali team has truly become family. Our dream is to continue to honor and positively impact our artisans in Bali and to grow our Walker&Wade community around the globe.

We pride ourselves in the longevity & durability of our garments. We focus on creating timeless, classic styles that last longer and are made from natural fabrications. Our designs are ethically produced and handmade while preserving traditional Indonesian techniques. The close, family-like relationship we share with our Bali team is at the heart of everything we do. Since the beginning of the pandemic, we've provided jobs to 150+ people in Bali that were put out of work during the tourism shut down. Seeing our talented artisans able to provide a better life for their families through our company, and continuing to grow with us is an immensley rewarding feeling.

In order to eliminate wasteful production practices, we are cut to order. In addition, we reuse leftover fabric scraps to create new products such as face masks, hair scrunchies, bandanas, and more! We continue to research new ways to make our production practices & fabric usage as environmentally clean as possible.

As a small brand, our community means the world to us! Our customers are our inspiration to create beautiful and wearable pieces. This was never just a job for us, it has always been our passion and the way we live our lives. We love to see where you all wear W&W, and are honored that so many of you choose our dresses to wear in your most cherished moments!

In addition, to the endless support we receive from our customers, we love to give back to our community. We aim to continuously donate to some of our favorite charities found here: Stand Up to Cancer, American Red Cross, No Kid Hungry, Swim Across America, World Central Kitchen, the PRASAD Project, Breast Cancer Alliance, and more!
